The devil tempted Eve in the garden and he tempts us today the very same way. The first thing he does is to sow doubt in Eve’s mind and asks, “Has God said” regarding the eating of the fruit of The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil? The second thing in countering Eve’s answer he says, “You will not surely die!”. Thirdly, the devil accuses God of jealousy and lying by continuing with his answer saying, “God knows that when you eat the fruit you’ll become gods, knowing good and evil”.
